As July gives way to August, the Algarve reaches the height of summer. Coastal temperatures hover around 30°C, while the inland areas climb into the mid-30s before easing into warm, lively evenings.
It's one of the region's busiest weeks, with the 30th Ria Formosa Festival in Faro, Lagos Book Fair, Lagoa's Sweet Fair, a traditional rural fair near Tavira, village celebrations in Alcoutim, and morning jazz concerts inside Loulé Castle.
